What kind of opps tickle your fancy?

Well, obviously we all like opps that pay well.  I mean aside from that, what kind of opps do you like best?  I am curious.

I think we are all naturally drawn to opps that concern products or subject matter that we feel we have a special affinity for.  I worked for many years in finance, and so while others may not find opps that deal with credit, loans, or mortgages very appealing, I tend to take every one I qualify for because the subject matter is interesting to me and I can write about it easily and comfortably.  As an avid moviegoer, I also tend to gravitate toward opps that publicize the release of new films

Aside from that, I really like opps that are interactive and enable me to be creative, such as the one where you made your own sandcastle, or the more recent one where you designed your own sneaker.  I had so much fun with that one, and got so caught up in the competiton and voting that I did a completely different post about it on my other blog just so I could direct more people over to vote for my shoe.

I didn't win.  And so my dream of becoming a sneaker tycoon crumbled like the crazy pipe dream that it was.

But those opps were fun, they were out of the ordinary and they gave me a chance to show a little creative flair.  I also get excited about opps that introduce me to a product or service that I end up being crazy about.  The most recent example of this was the Cellfish opp.  I use Cellfish all the time now to upload pictures to my cellphone.  Cables and transfers and software may not be confusing for you, but they are for me, and the Cellfish application makes the process trouble free.

And this isn't a reason why I take an opp, and this may seem silly, but I always appreciate opps that where you can include an image or a video or something. I don't like a blog to have too many posts with just text.  It feels like I'm reading a textbook.  Ha!  Get it?  Text...Textbook?

Okay. I'll stop now.

So...what kind of opps do you like?

I really like opps for products I would actually use. I'm picky in my takings- I just can't write about something that I would probably never use. Because if I wouldn't use it my readers probably wouldn't, either.

Luckily I have lots of interests so there are still opps for me. :)

I love the movie op posts too, or even the series posts. Like the burn notice one. My husband and I have that one set to record on the DVR and we get really pissed if we don't get to see the new episode. I can't wait to see that movie about the haunted hotel room too.

When I first started PPP there were lots of opps that asked for pictures of webiste spelled out, things written on your forehead, and short fun videos. I'd like to see those return.

Being a homemaker, I would like to see more opps that are related to household normal stuffs, things that are used on daily basis - new food products, kitchen appliances etc which might seem tiny but could sway people's mind when they go out to shop. I guess not many advertisers of such stuffs think they should pay for more exposure but who knows it might help for their branding purpose. :)

I like opps that talk about being Earth friendly(green, ecology, organic, recycled products). It's helping people aware of our responsibility in preserving Mother Earth and it's also seen the green trend. Green is hip. Look at Discovery Channel buying Treehugger.com.

I prefer ops that want us to write about online shopping. It can be on clothings, household items, electronic gadgets, computers, furnitures, gifts, accessories, bags, shoes, etc.. Because I am out of US or UK blogger, I think writing about those things would be generally suitable for my blog readers and for every other bloggers as well.

it would be nice to get posts that DO NOT limit blogger.com. I have 4 blogs with blogger.com and they are all page ranked and high in traffic, but alas...ppp opps other than the 1k tuesdays that don't limit that are few and far between.

I prefer ops that leave a lot of it open. "Talk about ______, say whatever you like so long as it's about _______"

The ones I dislike the most are USA only, the oposite of what I listed above and the ones that require four or five additional links. I usually add a few extra links on my own, but I work them in where I want to, when I want to. It makes my writing sound better.

I also dislike overly demanding link text. If it's more than two words, it's too much and we end up needing to construct poor sentences/paragraphs to work around them.

The best ones are those that let us do what we do well.

Ideally, it should be for a product or service I'm familiar with. That way it's easy to make the post sound more natural and personalized.

I also love subjects that allow me to put a healthy smattering of humor into the post. Humor is good for you, y'know.

Plus, anything involving Florida... because then I can be a name-dropper and mention Mr. Fab somewhere in the post. That's an instant ratings-booster right there.
Or at least I hope it will be eventually. :)

Top favorites are posts about travel. I'm always disappointed when those vanish--some of them go in the twinkling of an eye!

I like the green, earth-friendly things, too.

I also like posts where the advertiser is up front, well organized in the requirements, and provides a disclosure bar. I appreciate that.

I often post a picture anyway, even if I don't have to.

I love opps about web design, web hosting, and general computer stuff. Technology (software, hardware, etc) is also something that I really like to write about.

And as mentioned above, the disclosure bar is really nice to have. It's not something I require when taking an opp, but when i find out an opp i took uses it, it's always nice.

I like Tech stuff. Like, for a while there were a number of iPhone related opps. Stuff like that, or other cell phones and gadgets. I really love gadgets. I think being the nature of the media (blogging) tech / gadget related sites get a lot of free buzz in the blogosphere, so I understand why there are not a ton of these kinds of opps. I mean, really, when would Apple ever need to *pay* someone to blog about there latest gizmo, software, or computer?

Regardless, whenever an opp like that comes along, I try to snatch it up.

I also like video opps, as long as they aren't too specific, I like freedom in my creativity.

Funny posts are good, too.

I would love to see some more opps involving movies, Hollywood, and actresses. My blog tries to focus on movies and actresses so these kind of opps aren't huge jumps in my normal content.
